SHINee (샤이니) is a contemporary South Korean boy group under SM Entertainment. The group debuted in 2008 with five members: Onew (온유), Jonghyun (종현), Key (키), Minho (민호) and Taemin (태민). Being a contemporary group, they take the lead in music, dance and fashion that fits the current trend. Their name “SHINee” is a play on the word “shine”, to be interpreted as “the one who is in light.” Or in this case, the light means the spotlight, reflecting the team’s aspirations to attract a wide range of fans by pursuing different types of music, regardless of the generation.

On 25th May 2008, SHINee debuted on SBS’s Inkigayo with their promotional single, “Noona Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)” ("누난너무예뻐 Replay”). Since their debut SHINee has released 3 studio length albums, 4 mini albums and 3 single albums.
